SFA orders recall of select Häagen-Dazs ice cream due to presence of pesticide – Mothership.SG

The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has directed the native importer of Häagen-Dazs ice cream, Frosts Food & Beverage (Pte.) Ltd, to recall two of its merchandise due to the presence of ethylene oxide.

Ethylene oxide is a pesticide that’s not authorised to be used in meals.

According to a Facebook put up by SFA, though there isn’t a fast threat to consumption of meals contaminated with low ranges of ethylene oxide, lengthy-time period publicity could lead to well being points.

Advised not to devour

The recall comes after the European Commission Food Alerts’ Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) issued a notification on the recall of the merchandise.

Consumers who’ve bought the implicated merchandise are suggested not to devour it.

Those who’ve consumed it and have issues about their well being ought to search medical recommendation.
