Paramilitary Jawan Dead, Many Injured In Firing At Kolkata Museum

The CISF took over the armed safety of the museum in December 2019.

A paramilitary jawan was shot useless and several other others have been injured after their colleague, a CISF constable fired indiscriminately inside their barrack connected on the Indian Museum in Kolkata this night.

The constable who used his service weapon to shoot at his colleagues has been disarmed and arrested by the police.

“The incident took place at around 6.30 PM. One CISF jawan was killed while another is badly injured. We have arrested the accused,” Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal mentioned.

He fired at a police automotive, injuring a number of police personnel, together with the motive force of the automobile, in keeping with sources.

The Central Industrial Security Force or CISF took over the armed safety of the museum in December 2019.

The museum, positioned within the coronary heart of Kolkata, is an autonomous organisation below the executive management of the Union Ministry of Culture.
